If you are looking for a footstool upon which to rest your weary feet after a hard day at the office, (or perhaps an even harder one on your feet all day if you happen to have been working in retail on the run-up to Christmas), but you only live in a small one-bed flat, why not consider buying a pouffe?
By and large, the majority of pouffes are relatively small (although we do make a few larger ones) and are therefore suitable for a single person to put their feet up on, but at the same time they don’t take up a lot of space.
Depending upon how high you like to rest your feet, you can choose from a fairly short drum pouffe or a taller one. Most pouffes also come without legs, although again, we do make one or two which are shallow but have legs to give them that extra bit of height. Even though most of our pouffes are relatively small, they are still also useful as a seat for one person if you have visitors but don’t have a lot of spare seating, which is also very likely in a small flat.
Pouffes don’t have to be circular / drum shaped though. Our Oxford designs are in a cube shape, and we also have the Spencer pattern which is hexagonal.
Storage Pouffe
Another idea when you don’t have a lot of space is to have us craft you a storage pouffe. Any footstool, even a small pouffe, takes up a certain amount of space and the inside of it is hollow. So, it’s like an empty box. If we turn the top into a lid and put a couple pf hinges on it you now have a box that you can open. This is useful for storing all sorts of bits and pieces like remotes, CDs, DVDs, magazines, and so on, keeping your living room tidy.
Of course, if you have a larger flat with a bit more space you might choose something such as a black leather footstool. Many of our customers do indeed choose a black leather footstool because there is something about the appeal of leather, in the same way as leather seats in a car.
There is also another benefit if you have a dog or cat, or perhaps worse still, kids (the dreaded “K” word!). Leather won’t stain when things get spilled on it. Grab a damp cloth and wipe it off and you’ll never know it happened.
